The time has come to offer for sale our Shetland 640 hard top lying in a beautiful marina in the centre of Burgundy
We have added some extra comforts to this Shetland classic to extend your days on the water. We have made her self sufficient to operate in the quiet rural areas of France’s canals and picturesque rivers, but she feels just at home in a marina moored with any craft.
The original battery circuit is left intact. This starts the engine, run the CD player, the Navigation lights, spot lights, internal lights and 12Volt socket on cockpit.
The new addition of two solar panels allows the separate leisure battery to run the fridge, shower pumps and 12 volt auxiliary socket.
Fitted with Mariner 15hp 4 stroke outboard (new 2004) with very low engine hours.
The boat offers full standing height throughout.

We have owned Hobbit since 2003 and moved her to France by trailer in late June 2008. We did not use the boat that year, only to stay onboard a few nights.
She was lifted out in November 2008 anti-fouled, engine serviced and new anode fitted. Craned back into the water April 2009
May 2009 solar panels and 12volt fridge shower and pumps fitted. Since then we have been on the Nivernais and the Yonne making full use of the solar panels (these work off light not only sun) as they start to operate at first light.
This is a remarkable boat for its size, with full standing height throughout, fitted galley and toilet compartment.
The cabin has ample seating with large storage areas under. The swivel pedestal table (illustrated) makes the two v berths into a large double bed. There are 3 wall lights with beige shades. Clothes hanging space to side of galley.
Galley has fitted sink, new gas cooker with ceiling light above, together with fire blanket and fire extinguisher.
Separate toilet compartment with Porti Pottie and ceiling light.
The aft section has two wall mounted lights, wall mounted fire extinguisher.
A table which attaches to the engine bulkhead, to make an al fresco eating area in the boat. A separate bench style seat can go across the back instead of the table if required, seating 6 people in the aft section with ease. Large storage pockets and under seat storage areas.
The lockable cab door returns fully back to the cab bulkhead allowing ample leg room for crew member when seated. The helmsman seat neatly houses the 12 volt fridge (see photo).
