- All site visitors,
(whether registered or not), are welcome to post advertisements here.
- Advertisements
must be appropriate to this website and must not contravene
any legislation.
- Any items found
in breach of these conditions will be removed by the Webmaster.
-
All entries (and any subsequent transactions), are the responsibility
of the Seller (or Buyer).
and we neither condone nor guarantee anything listed here.
- Please also
be aware that if you post your email address with your advert in this
publicly visible area, it could potentially attract 'Spam',
which is an unfortunate but inevitable consequence of the instant
free worldwide advertising that the Internet provides, (hence most
users already run Spam filters via their ISP.)
- If you would
like photos in your advert, place the Ad in the normal way yourself,
and then email
the (smallish) photos to us and we will attach them to the advert.
- Please
let us know when the item is sold, so that we
can delete your advert and avoid others subsequently wasting their
time (and yours).
Years
ago, it was said that "most private buyers and sellers are honest,
or nothing could be sold second-hand". This is still the case,
thankfully, but the Internet has added a new dimension to things, and
new hazards as well as advantages.
Whether you are selling or buying, you may receive an email from a SCAMMER.
They are, unfortunately, very common, and many of our advertisers
have been approached by these crooks. There is nothing we can do
to prevent it, other than warn you about them.
Unlike
eBay, there is no "feedback" that you can check, so if you
send money, then get no goods, you have no redress. Likewise, if you
part with your goods before receiving cash or cleared cheques (and even
then, not American Express Cheques), you may be conned.
So,
more awkward though it may be, face to face contact cash transactions
are the safest way.
Lastly,
the Police also advise against agreeing to meet anywhere other than
at the sellers home, as with cars, for high value items which could
be stolen if they are without written provenance, which boats and engines
often do not have, as they do not require registraton documents etc,
like cars.
